Founder and Business Consultant

Candice Ohlson

Candice founded Her Legacy Consulting to give women led businesses the structure that ambition alone cannot provide: clear strategy, documented systems, financial discipline and leadership that holds when the founder steps back.

Background

A Consultant Who Works Inside the Business.

Candice works with owners who are competent, busy and carrying more of the business than they should be.

Her consulting practice grew out of a simple observation repeated across dozens of South African businesses. The owner is capable. The product or service is sound. Customers are willing to pay. What is missing is structure: the procedures, financial rhythms, roles and decision rights that let a business grow without the owner absorbing every additional demand personally.

Candice built Her Legacy Consulting around that gap. The practice serves owner led enterprises across the Western Cape and the Northern Cape, and delivers enterprise and supplier development programmes for corporate, funder and public sector clients who need beneficiary businesses to become genuinely contract ready.

She works inside the business rather than beside it. Engagements involve real records, real processes and real trading conditions, because a recommendation that has never been tested against a busy month is not a recommendation the client can rely on.

How she works

Four Convictions That Shape Every Engagement.

Structure is respect

Documented systems, clean records and honest reporting are how a business shows respect for its clients, its team and the owner's own time.

Capability over dependency

Consulting should leave the business more capable than it found it. Everything built during an engagement belongs to the client.

Commercial seriousness

Women led businesses are not a category requiring encouragement. They require the same rigour, financial discipline and market access as any other enterprise.

Work that outlives the engagement

The measure of good consulting is what still functions eighteen months later, when the consultant is no longer in the room.

Bring the Business as It Is.

A consultation is a working conversation about what is actually happening in the business and what deserves attention first.
